You know you have a choice of software, but have you given as much thought to choosing the right mix of implementation resources? The implementation process is the
single most important contributor to the success of your selected system, and your choice of implementation resources deserves careful consideration.
Simpson Neely Group has experience with numerous systems and law departments and can provide you with an objective perspective on best practices for your department. Since we have been through implementations of all shapes and sizes, we know what works and what doesn't.
Once you have chosen your software, SNG can guide your team so that implementation is efficient and produces a system tailored to your needs.
Project Management
SNG provides project management services that extend the duration of your implementation project. We conduct a kickoff meeting to communicate the project plan to everyone involved and set up a collaborative web site that facilitates the sharing of project information. We hold regular status meetings to plan and administer all aspects of the project. We help you establish roles, identify tasks, calendar due dates, define project milestones and resolve issues.
Analysis & System Design
Working with your project team, SNG interviews department personnel so that we can assess your use of any current technology and determine your expectations and requirements for your new system. We identify and collect all of the data fields you are currently using (or would like to use) and collect existing reports and other key documents. We analyze all of this information and use it to design your initial system and screen prototype, reporting and customization requirements. We involve end-users in the design of the system and customize screens for each of the different user groups. During this phase of implementation, SNG also assists in creating specifications for data conversion (if you will be migrating data from one source or system to your new system), integration (if you will be integrating existing systems with your new system) and reports.
Development, Testing & Deployment
Once design is completed, we work with your project team to develop the conversion programs, integration programs and reports. We will also assist you in creating custom end-user and training documentation and obtain input from your end-users who will input sample matters and test the system. When the team is ready to deploy the system, training is conducted by your software vendor and end-users return to their workstations, ready to begin inputting real matters into the system. After deployment, we assist you with a post-implementation meeting to obtain user feedback and determine whether the system should be improved. Our objective is to hand off the ownership of the system to your law department so that you can maintain and customize it on your own. Using this approach, we believe that your law department enjoys the greatest return on its technology investment.
